Brand Evolution

Alphawave evolved out of the EMSS Group of companies, that have been operating out of Technopark, Stellenbosch since 1994. Group management initiated a strategic shift to leverage the software and electronic know-how, developed over more than 20 years, and to actively apply these technology and business skills to broader markets that require software and electronic based tech solutions. This lead to re-investment of capital in a number of internal projects as well as a few external acquisitions and investments. The re-positioning of the Group lead to a valuable re-branding exercise that culminated in a launch of the new Alphawave brand in May 2017.          

The ethos of solving difficult technology problems really well, and then surprising customers with our solutions, support and customer focus, will remain the core of Alphawave. Our culture of expecting excellence from our people and rewarding them with an unconventional work experience will continue. Our strive to be financially successful by providing valuable solutions to our customers remains in place. This results in a stable workplace environment where innovation can thrive to the benefit of our customers, people and shareholders.

Alphawave is not a company with one product or one service. It's a Group of Companies with a variety of products and services delivered by the Alphawave companies and subsidiaries. However, our history and ethos is what binds us together. Whether we grow organically or by acquisition, we will ensure that the Alphawave culture and philosophy, towards technology and business, remains our common thread.
